The Prospect team has a long and distinguished history in delivering Flood Early Warning Systems (FEWS) that are tailored to suit the end user and organisational requirements.
Working closely with the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM), Local government, water authorities and other associated agencies our systems have provided real-time monitoring of rainfall, river heights and weather conditions facilitating critical warning to situational managers and the community throughout Australia.
Systems and services related to Flood Warning include the design, supply, installation, operation, and maintenance of Bureau of Meteorology specified flood ALERT systems. These VHF radio based systems include structures and equipment for:
- Base Stations
- Repeater Stations
- Rainfall and Water Level Monitoring Stations
Prospect Environmental has also delivered customised systems which utilise a variety of independent or complementary communication transport protocols including Radio (VHF, UHF and Microwave), Mobile Networks and Satellite.
In addition to the traditional river monitoring stations, we often adapt new technologies that complement the functionality of these stations through the addition of:
- Cameras for visual site confirmation
- Water quality sensors
- Soil moisture probes
- Atmospheric sensors (wind speed & direction, solar radiation etc.)
- River flow, velocity and discharge measurement
- Urban storm-water and drainage event measurement
